The G-DRG system was established as a learning system and is continuously developed and adjusted by the institute for hospital remuneration - InEK. A central component of this development is the proposal process, which incorporates medical, scientific, and other expertise. The InEK has now also set up such a process for the reimbursement classification of service groups.
The service group classification system is a new flat-rate remuneration system that has been introduced in addition to the G-DRG system for the remuneration of inpatient services (pre-reimbursement). It is essential for planning hospital services and pre-reimbursement in Germany.
Since the service group system is not yet sufficiently differentiated, it needs further development to allow for appropriate assignment of patient cases to service groups. Same process as successfully implemented with the G-DRG-System over the course of the last 20 years.
Through the proposal process, hints on problems and solutions can be submitted to InEK. In this way, you can participate in the further development of the German reimbursement landscape.
