Preliminary ICD-10-GM version 2021 published by BfArM

With the publication of the pre-version of the ICD-10-GM version 2021 by the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM)  a new round of publications of various classifications has started. At the end of the year, they are meant to give a complete overview over the effective reimbursement  system  for the in-patient sector in 2021.

The different amendments of the ICD-10-GM in detail:

New codes were admitted in the range U07 – unaccounted key numbers:
U07.0 Health problems in connection with e-cigarettes [vaporizers].
U07.1 Covid-19, virus confirmed
U07.1 Covid-19, virus not confirmed

Differentiations in classification were implemented in the codes

G92.- Toxic encephalopathy
H35.- Other affections of the retina
77.- Other diseases of the arteries and arterioles
K65.- Acute peritonitis.

Deleted were surficial abdominal injuries (S30.-) as part of a reconstruction. All deleted codes of this list  were transferred into separate ICD-Codes.
