The coalition negotiations of the new federal government between SPD, Grüne and FDP are going to start, first details on the future healthcare policy were already published:
- Preparing the healthcare system for future crisis such as a further pandemic, which means to digitalize and further develop the system. Guiding principle of health policy should be prevention.
- Access to good and reliable healthcare must be guaranteed to everyone and everywhere in Germany, whether in the city or in the countryside.
- The lump sum system (DRG-system) for the hospital funding will be adapted it with regard to obstetrics and emergency care as well as pediatric medicine.
- There is a need for more cross-sectoral cooperation and networking between the various health institutions and professions.
- We want to have more nursing and care staff in the hospitals.
- High-quality care is only possible with appropriate education, good working conditions and reasonable wages.
- We want to attract more qualified foreign care staff and create the necessary conditions.
- Nurses and care staff should have more time for their actual work with the patients.
- Ensuring this by de-bureaucratisation, the use of digital potential and clear nationwide uniform requirements for personnel assessment.
- Statutory and private health and long-term care insurance will remain.
