The Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices in Germany (BfArM) published the final version of the ICD-10-GM (International Classification of Diseases) for 2025 on its website on September 18th 2024.
The ICD provides codes for the assignment of diseases and is thus relevant for the reimbursement. The main and secondary diagnoses of the patient are relevant for the DRG allocation and for the reimbursement. The ICD-codes and the reimbursement are transferred to the payers.
