The German DRG Institute („Institut für das Entgeltsystem im Krankenhaus GmbH“ (InEK)) published the latest results of the NUB proposal process for 2020 (according to sec 6 para 2 KHEntgG) on the InEK website.
The publication shows that 778 different therapies or other medical procedures resulting from 60,970 proposals 19,422 (32%) for medical devices; 41,548 (68%) for pharmaceuticals were submitted to InEK.
A total of 201 (25%) therapies/other medical procedures (72 (36%) medical devices, 129 (64%) pharmaceuticals) received the desired NUB status 1. It allows the submitting hospitals to negotiate an individual Reimbursement with the payers.
517 (66%) of all therapies/other medical procedures (349 ((68%) medical devices, 168 (32%) pharmaceuticals) received NUB status 2, the remaining therapies were allocated to other status categories.
